The woman who took care of my dad for over 2 years was the most loving person in the world. I saw "was" because she died suddenly a few weeks ago. I think that saying is true - The good die young.

I know from my own experience as the breast cancer patient, and multiple times as the caregiver, that it's a tough, lonely exhausting road to be a caregiver. They have my upmost admiration. Dementia/Alzheimer's caregivers are a special group, indeed. I watched as they cared for my mother and 20 other patients, and I don't know where they pull their reserves from; how they come back day after day. Thank you for celebrating them! xoxox, Brenda

People often forget how stressful and utterly demanding caregiving can be - even the caregivers themselves. It's so important to bring awareness to this. Thanks for helping to spread the message.

Thanks so much for this Cathy. After spending four days visiting my mother-in-law in an Alzheimer's facility, I have an even deeper appreciation for caregivers, both paid and unpaid. I didn't realize that there was a random act of kindness campaign going on, but I have completed one already and plan to do #2 this week. Thank you for raising awareness!
