Awesome interview! I grew up in Brooklyn and the Bronx was like a world away! I'm sure the stories are relatable for sure. I can totally relate to what she said about putting her career on the back-burner...as I did the same. I will be adding this book to my list for sure! I love learning about new reads. Thanks much!

I often think about your mom when I think (and miss) of my uncle, the reason we bonded over what took them both from us. But I also celebrate them because they were surrounded with love. I know, because I know you, that your mom would have loved this book as well.

The vignette about Abe Rosenthal was posthumous, so if another book was written I'd love to see your mom being written about. She was an extraordinary woman who was a major influencer in the world as well. Bless her and bless her daughter...xo

Yes, indeed, we all need to hold tight to our dreams. I think Langston Hughes said something about that if we let go of our dreams, life is like a bird with a broken wing who cannot fly. How true.
