I am more than I thought I would be when I had to retire from the classrooms because I could no longer remember my students' names and profiles ... but my husband and I learned to do my daily injections ... he was my best friend, my caretaker, and my entire center. I lost him Christmas morning this past winter ..; unexpectedly, suddenly, he died and I was without him. He and I began our small businesses here at home - he a woodworker, l a quilter, and both with shops in our barn. We spent every day together. I am lost without him. I go through the motions every day and surprisingly am still open and helping quilters find fabrics and design their quilts. I am less than I was six months ago, before he died ... but I will not remain less ... I will work to be more than I am today. I still deny the label of RRMS ... I have something, but not that. I now also have skin cancers (all three types) since I'd taken those injections for MS for more than four years...I stopped it when I lost my career as a teacher. I lost myself then, for a short time. But my husband helped me find a new me. I will be that new me again, for him, to honor him. I will be more than my diagnosis.

My husband had a lung transplant because of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. You keep rocking it, Cathy.
