When I heard Hallie Tamez talk about WaterAid last year, and she showed photos of sick children and infants, and told us about one particular newborn who died from dehydration, I was shocked and hooked on this issue.

You are so right, Lois. It's unfathomable that this happens in so much of our world. Something must be done.

I also can't wait to hear from Jennifer, and I look forward to her Twitter chat. I can't imagine what she is going to say!

The whole water issue really freaks me out. It's unacceptable that in this day and age there are so many people without access to clean water. Will be interested to hear about Jennifer's trip to Nicaragua. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you, Diane. I was fortunate enough to hear someone from WaterAid speak last year, and it really touched a nerve. So many people without water, but the photos of young children and infants tore me up.

Oh, I'm sure you saw so much in India, Carol. So much poverty despite concentrations of wealth in the main cities, right? We need to get clean water to those in need. It's vital. Photos of babies and children dehydrating are particularly heartbreaking to me...
