It is so wonderful to see how technology can be put to such good use. This is a wonderful development for the MS community but I think really for everyone. With a disability or without, anyone can benefit from this. Like you, I have not been able to stick to an exercise regime and the personalized attention and ability to exercise at home that this affords would be a real incentive for me to get on board. I have been interested in trying the FitBit -- I hear such good things about it. Thanks for bringing this new development to our attention, Cathy!

What a great interview and perspective Cathy! This answer by the not too hard to look at Dr. Vincent gives me hope that maybe someday our favorite hashtag / mantra will actually happen: "Our goal is to find ways to improve the lives of patients living with MS and to encourage smart, enthusiastic medical students to become interns, residents and physicians who will continue to improve care in MS." #InMyLifetimePlease

Sound like this could be very useful for a lot of folks, with or without MS. Accountability does help me get off my backside, but it's hard to find someone who can work with me on it.

I love these devices. FitBit, Nike...they are all wonderful tools to help us monitor our goals and activities. I have been known to be a little competitive (understatement). These things drive me to compete with myself. Always wanting to better it each day, even if it's only a few steps. It's as much physiological as it is physical. Good combo...good sharing!

I was one of the nerds who actually exercised along with Jane Fonda every day. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, I'd been going to water aerobics three days a week, for several years, so I had a fitness advantage many of my fellow breast cancer sisters didn't have. The main thing that got me through the death of my husband, four years ago, was my Monday-Wednesday-Friday session at the gym with my trainer. I hired a trainer because I knew I would sink into the floorboards of my house, never to be seen again. A trainer is my splurge in life. I give up, a lot, for that, but I really think it's saved me on so many levels.
Do what exercise you can, Cathy! It is a game changer! xoxox, Brenda

Oh Cathy you are such a great heroine! But listen, I bought a Fit-bit., wore it 24/7, fell in love with it (it was a great motivator) and then it stopped working. I took it back and got another which also stopped working.
The salesclerk suggested I was allergic. Can this happen?
