That is so wonderful, Kate. I am so glad something so joyful as telling your mother-in-law how you feel came out of reading my post!

Yes, I have told my mother-in-law how I feel. I think I'll go call her and tell her again.....

Have a wonderful evening,
Cathy

I'm happy to hear that you feel the same towards your mother-in-law. Does she know it? I think mine doesn't... Tonight I'm gonna tell her. Even thinking of that makes me feel so touched!

Kate,

I don't think it's strange at all. I think it is simply wonderful that you would nominate your mother-in-law. As we all know it's rare when people feel close to their in-laws (as you and I do - yes, I do too!) and what a wonderful statement that you came around to sincerely appreciate and admire you mother-in-law. Kudos to her for all she does. She IS a warrior!

No matter how strange it may seem, my powerful woman over 50 is my mother-in-law. She's now 77 years old, with health probplems and she still cares and keeps helping us in every possible way. She's a real warrior!
In the past, I used to get mat at her but lately I've completely changed attitude. After all, we both are mothers of two sons...And warriors!

Thank you so much, Caryn, for your nomination and short bio of this extraordinary person who works to improve senior's lives through her dedication and brilliance. It is people such as Vicki Ellner that would also be on my list of powerful women and I am thrilled to learn about her. My congratulations to her, and to you, for all of the work you do in your everyday life. Much to be proud of! (I also am happy to learn about the Senior Umbrella Network of Brooklyn.)

Best to you always,
Cathy

Thank you, Vicki. Yes, we always have to self-empower our spirit to prepare us for life's transitions and surprises. You are so right!

Thanks for your comment.

This is really good, Cathy. We also have to remember self-empowering spirit (your phrase, I believe). That spirit is so helpful in many situations, like career, family, chronic illness, for example. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I would nominate Vicki Ellner, Founder/President of Senior Umbrella Network of Brooklyn, a not for profit organization . Vicki's power is a force of nature that attracts the top influencers in health, government and business to her dedication and ingenuity for developing programs to educate professionals who serve the senior population by shariing ideas and common goals. As a volunteer for the organization, she inspires others to create initiatives that support the mission of improving the lives of seniors in the community.
