I don't know about you but I'm grateful whenever spring arrives. My heart feels lighter and the world somehow seems happier. I feel as if I've jumped out of a black-and-white Ansel Adams photograph and landed onto the bold colors of an Annie Leibovitz portrait.
There's something else that happens in the spring. Life gets busier. My calendar fills up quickly with personal and professional events. With no more worries about traveling along icy roads or freezing in frigid temperatures I'm off and running. Okay, I'm off and walking...
This spring I've been invited to a few large health-related conferences and what's the first thing I think about? What to wear, of course. And which pair of shoes are the most comfortable. AND which bag looks professional to carry during the day that fits all the paraphernalia I schlep around. My bag would make Mary Poppin's bag look practically empty.
That's why I was thrilled when the nice people at Uncommon Goods asked me to review a few of their items.
I already knew the company by reputation, about their dedication to sustainability and integrity and the fabulous, artistic items they offer that are handmade, recycled and organic.
Plus I love their mission of giving to others every time a customer makes a purchase.
I immediately answered YES and then I virtually ran to their website to look for a handbag that fits more items than the one I own.
Since Mother's Day is around the corner I also thought it'd take a look at their gift suggestions for moms. From jewelry to pottery to more personal items such as handmade soaps or a sari robe, there's so much to choose from. I pored over each item not knowing what to get.
I was impressed how uniquely crafted their items are, and how you can read the stories behind each artist. It makes every item even more special.
And with Father's Day on deck I took at look at what they had for men. It was easy to find what I liked since they offer ways of finding what you're looking for according to recipient, price or interest and a special category to shop their collection.
There's something for everyone - sports enthusiasts, hipsters, chefs, ties, music lovers and more.
I always enjoy purchasing personalized items for people. It's a way of showing someone that you went that extra step to find something more meaningful. If you're like me you'll enjoy looking at their personalized gifts from alphabet books and photo prints to wedding vases and glassware.
Sorry Mom and Dad, but this time I ordered items for myself. (Don't worry....I'll be returning to the site soon!) I'm thrilled with my choice - a black and grey ombre tote that's spacious enough to fit my laptop and personal items and will also look professional yet chic. It's soft, durable AND has a matching crossbody clutch that's perfect when attending any professional event.
But before I placed my order something else caught my eye. It was a vibrantly colored silk wrap bracelet with a metallic Sanskrit symbol meaning WARRIOR, or as the site says - to fight the good fight. I'd like to think of myself as a warrior, and I think most of us are. Wearing this bracelet will provide an extra reminder to stay strong despite any challenges.
It also happens to be a beautiful bracelet.
I hope you'll take a look at the Uncommon Goods website to find something special and unique for you and your loved ones. I guarantee you'll feel good about your purchase for two reasons: Your purchases will make you smile AND you're asked to choose a charity and the company will donate money on your behalf. It's a win-win. (I chose the people of Flint, Michigan.)
Happy Shopping!
DISCLOSURE: This is a sponsored post for Uncommon Goods. All opinions are, as always, completely my own.
Uncommon Good is my go-to anytime I need to buy or send a gift. I adore them as well.
I have been a fan of their stuff for a very long time. Good, quality products. Love them!
I love that bag. It is the perfect size and color -- I bet you will use it all the time. I also love the mission of the company. Thank you for introducing it to me. Now, off to shop ...
Nice opening analogy. I am not much of a shopper though I do prefer to buy from socially progressive companies
That bag is gorgeous! I see mothers day wish list forming!
Sweet! I love the tote and I LOVE companies who are progressive. I won't shop at places like Hobby Lobby who don't want their female employees to have birth control.
I love that purse, and a purse in a purse is perfect for travel and meetings like you mention! I was not familiar with them but now I am so thanks Cathy for the great review that is sending me to shop!
I've been a longtime fan of this company! So many great things to choose from.Especially loe the tote!
Nice. I like a clutch to go inside my handbag. I call it my sub-purse inside my satchel.
I am a huge fan of Uncommon Goods and have bought a ton of stuff from them. They always have the most unique items, and I love that they give back.
Twist wine decanter - I am SOLD! That is the coolest thing I've seen.
Love your Article and love the bag For My Mothers

GREAT THAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING THEM AND THAT THEY GET YOU!!
I've never heard of this site before (I must have been living under a rock here in Australia!) I'm off to check it out 🙂 I loved that carafe and your tote 🙂
I have never heard of Uncommon Good! I'm intriqued and really love that wine decanter. My hubby would love it! Thanks for sharing!
What a lovely collection. That handbag is really neat. Thanks for sharing, Cathy.
I love their items and their ethos. They have such unique merchandise, and it is a perfect place to find a gift that no one will have seen before. I love the kimono you chose to show above! I might need that.
I had forgotten about this company, so thanks, for the reminder. I love your new bag! And now I have my eye on that wine decanter. I've never seen anything like it! I always enjoy shopping at businesses that give back.
Great company with a heart! Love your ideas and selections Cath. You'll be styling with that beautiful bag:) xo
Birth announcement pillows are something I can honestly say I've never even thought of before. I should have got a couple for my children, but of course they would just hit each other over the head with them.
