The No-Iron Foxcroft Collection: How It Makes Life Easier For Someone With A Disability

By Cathy Chester on August 26, 2013

The following is not a sponsored post.  I received no compensation, other than a Foxcroft blouse as a gift for attending the BOOMBOX Network Social Soiree. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

A few weeks ago I was invited by BOOMBOX Network to a cocktail party for Foxcroft, the women's apparel company.  This year, they are celebrating 25 years of "effortless style".

I looked forward to learning more about their line of clothing designed with the feminine figure in mind, with fabrics and designs I always count on for a casual yet polished look.  Timeless, classic and comfortable.

Arriving at Foxcroft

After arriving at the party and getting settled in with hugs from friends and introductions to other attendees (and, of course, eating a few hors d'oevres since I was starving!) I was pleasantly surprised to learn Foxcroft also carries a men's line.  Their display enticed me to look around and touch all of the soft fabrics.

After entering the larger and more crowded back room, I had some time to catch up with old friends and make new acquaintances. It was a lot of fun.

When it was time to quiet down and learn what was new at Foxcroft, we heard about their newest arrivals, and the fabulous no-iron line they offer.

No-iron?  Music to my ears.  I hate to iron (just ask my husband), and doing so is fatiguing for someone with a disability.  Standing for long periods of time is difficult, so ironing is the last thing on my "to do" list.

How many times has my poor husband tried to (ahem) iron his own shirt?  He doesn't love to do it (at all) but does it when he has to because he knows it makes my life easier.

No-iron?  That's a dream come true.

I purchased "no-iron" clothing before, and ended up being disappointed with the product.  After hearing about Foxcroft's I was cautiously optimistic.

We were then invited to try on a sample no-iron blouse.  As an added bonus for attending the party, we would be receiving a Foxcroft no-iron blouse (in our choice of long or 3/4 sleeve, with an array of colors to choose from.)

I was thrilled.

Before the party ended, we were treated to a goody bag filled with items from the marvelous sponsors of the party.

Plus my own private hug from friend Audrey Van Petegem of BOOMBOX Network.

I couldn't wait to receive my new shirt and try it on.  Finally, the day came when my box arrived at the front door.  Hallelujah!

Waiting to be worn!

The purple color of the blouse was vibrant, and the soft texture made it f-e-e-l good to wear.

Don't you love the feel of premium cotton?  PLUS, there was not one wrinkle in the blouse after being shipped.

Here I am wearing it two ways.  Tell me which way you prefer.

or closed as a blouse.

I love my new blouse and how easy it will be to keep it looking crisp and fresh every time I wear it.

Ordering Foxcroft apparel is easy to purchase online by going to the Foxcroft website.

What do you think of the new no-iron apparel?  Will it make your life easier?

Thank you to BOOMBOX Network and especially to the ever-fabulous hostess of the night, Audrey Van Petegem. I want to also thank Foxcroft, and the sponsors for this fun event:

  1. I'm so glad to read this and see it on you. I like it buttoned up best - and the swag? Fun! Heading to Nordstrom in a couple days to try some on for myself. I'd be hesitant to order one on-line without a fitting in person. They look great and come highly recommended by a few other girls at GenFab.

  2. Hi Cathy,
Great to hear that you had a good time at the Silver Soiree event and, even more so, that you got to discover a new favorite brand! Personally, I like the blouse on you both ways, and that's the best part, that it can play the role of a blouse and then, of a light jacket. That multi-tasking plus the no-iron feature makes the blouse great for travel too. Think I need to stock up!

  3. Cathy,
It looks great either way! I know the color is more accurate in the closed version, but the blue looks so good on you that you should consider getting one in that color too. I discovered their non-iron shirts at Nordstrom's a few years ago -- great colors, good selection, and best of all to me is that they're available in petite. As a vertically challenged (okay, short) woman, it's nice to find clothes that fit right off the rack and don't require hemming.

  4. I like both ways on you. That is the beauty of a well made shirt you have options. The no iron is huge not just because of the pain of ironing after washing but because it stays crisper. I have 2 linen blouses I use in the summer for a jacket/sweater/2nd layer. I can't walk out of the house without wrinkles. Yes they are linen but I don't need more wrinkles! We are breaking up and they are heading to the charity bag. Foxcroft could be in my near future?

  5. Purple is one of my favorite colors, and on you it looks fabulous. I like the open jacket look but either one suits you well. Enjoy wearing it!

  6. What a lovely shirt! I agree with the other poster that the "blue" color also looks good on you. Next time I hope to come along with you; Audrey from #Boombox Network is so sweet, isn't she?

  7. Hi Cathy,
What a lovely post. I was delighted to be your "chauffeur" and get to know each other a little better during the drive. You look great in both pics, but I like it as a blouse-maybe because the color is true. I can't wait to get my blouse. Also, thanks for including me in the great pics.

  8. I'm going with the crowd here - I'm a true mix and matcher - love to throw things in the suitcase and then decide what mood I'm in when I get there. This shirt would become one of my favorites, since it would be a jacket or shirt, depending on the weather. AND, with those internal power surges, maybe as a jacket most often. 🙂

  9. Cathy, it was so great to finally meet you at #Foxcroft25 after following all your adventures on #GenFab! I recognized you immediately from your warm smile on the many threads I've read along with!

I received my Foxcroft blouse last week, and have already worn it several times! Mine is a vibrant bubblegum pink. LOVE IT! It's multi-functional and fits perfectly into my wardrobe. And I love the no-iron feature too!
